Required Documents

Applying for the India tourist eVisa is a quick and affordable process. You’re required to provide minimal documents to set the eVisa processing in motion.

Here’s a list of the documents you need to apply for the eVisa:

  •   A valid passport: The scanned copies of the identification pages of your passport are required to be uploaded.

These pages are usually the first and last pages of your passport and display information such as your name, date of birth, passport validity, etc.

However, instead of scanned copies, high-quality images of the first and the last pages of your passport will also be deemed valid.

  •   A clear photograph: You’re required to upload a clearly visible and neutral faced photograph — that is, the photograph must show the person in non-smiling facial expressions.

Additionally, your photograph should be without spectacles or headwear.

However, wearing religious headwear, such as turbans or hijab in the photographs is permitted.

Just these two documents are required to apply for the tourist eVisa for India. Yet, the Indian immigration authorities have the right to ask for additional documents depending on your nationality or travel history.
